On a February night during a team camping investigation, the witness walked a sandy road near powerlines and found large footprint impressions in the sand. The team marked the clearest prints and returned in the morning to document a faint quarter-mile trackway ending at a creek, measuring 16-inch prints with a 54-inch stride. Over several nights in December the witness and their partner sat on their home lanai at night and heard a loud cry or scream, rock-clacking sounds, and stones or pebbles striking the house and lanai, and noticed a strange unknown odor for two days. No creature was seen. An investigator later visited the property, found a displaced rock, a single possible footprint, and nearby scat, and noted the property backs onto a power-line corridor.

During the night he heard unknown noises, a cough/grunt sound, whistles, rocks thrown toward him, and a very loud crash near his hammock. The witness and a neighbor went into the wooded area of the witness's Florida property after dark to investigate heavy footsteps in leaves and brush. The neighbor ran toward the sounds expecting a person while the witness stayed about 30 yards away. A tall figure then ran past the witness in moonlight at extraordinary speed.

The witness and a companion were camping in a tent at Alexander Springs. After playing cards until about 3 a.m., the companion fell asleep while the witness lay awake. The witness heard surrounding animal sounds fall silent, smelled a skunk-like odor, saw a tall upright shadow on the tent wall and heard a grunt-like noise. In the morning the coolers had been ransacked, and the pair left the campground early the next night after feeling uneasy.

The witness's family discovered a long trail of large footprints on their hunting property on a winter weekend in 1991. They followed the trail for over a mile past creeks and cabins and through a barbed-wire fence, making plaster casts of a right and left print.
