Two people on snowmobiles stopped at a bridge in a remote snowy area and removed their helmets. They heard repeated loud howl-like vocalizations from one direction, loud single knocks on a tree from another direction, and a large branch breaking. After about five minutes of silence they heard another series of more distant howls and then left the area.

The witness and her adult son were camped overnight in tents at a lakeside site. At dusk the witness gave a loud whoop and heard a return whoop from across the lake, followed by elk bugling and a loud knock from behind camp. After going to bed, the witness felt something heavy step on the tent edge and push on her head through the fabric, then heard soft bipedal steps around camp until dawn when another knock was heard.

The knocking occurred in repeated episodes separated by about 20-minute pauses over about an hour. The witness woke a brother who briefly listened, and the next morning the group found no deer, elk or cattle in the immediate area.

A family camping beside a swamp heard a long scream-like grunt that shifted to a screech and ended in grunt-huffing from 100-200 feet away, causing their dogs to react strongly. About 15 minutes later they heard stick-on-stick knocks to the north, then again 15 minutes later from farther north, with no movement detected between sounds. A morning search found no tracks or broken brush, and the family moved camp to another area.

After hearing distant screams that seemed to shift position and prolonged branch-breaking around camp, the witness stayed awake listening while others slept. The witness heard heavy running and breathing pass the RV and noticed moonlight through the windows dim briefly, then later the companion's son fled his tent to the RV reporting tree-banging, movement, darkness at the tent, and a voice imitation. No one saw anything, and the next morning knocking elicited whistle replies from the woods.
