Multiple witness daylight motorist sighting at bike trail half mile west of Fort Ancient
The witness was driving westbound with three family members and slowed near a bike-trail crossing. They all saw a large black figure standing on the trail at a distance, facing the river and appearing to have come from the woods. The vehicle did not stop and the figure was out of view in less than ten seconds, with snow on the ground and no other people on the trail.
Possible encounter at a state park campsite on the Musconetcong River
The witness camped overnight in a sleeping bag by a dying fire after hearing a metallic clink followed by tree knocks that seemed to answer each other from two directions. The witness then watched a dark silhouette showing only head and shoulders peek from behind a tree about 20 feet away. In the morning a tied food bag was gone except for an orange left on the ground.

Six people were camping at a lakeside site late at night. After most of the group went to bed, the witness entered a tent set very close to the water. The witness and a companion heard splashing and branches moving behind the tent, then the witness saw an elbow-like shape drag down the tent wall. This was followed by loud heavy thuds of something running away from camp.
