Driver has possible early morning sighting near Fort Scott
The witness was driving west on Highway 54 toward the Kansas state line in early-morning darkness on the way to work. In the headlights a very large, very dark, stocky upright figure was seen on the left side of the road, visible from the knees up with very black hair that shone in the lights. The figure quickly stepped off the roadway within a second or two, and the witness did not turn back.
Motorist has a possible sighting on a rainy night near Schell City
The witness was driving home from work late at night in rain when he noticed a figure in the ditch beside the road. He first mistook it for a person in rain gear, then saw it was a hair-covered figure bent over what looked like a deer on the ground. As he drove even with it, the figure stood upright on two legs and extended its arms straight out. He slowed briefly but continued home.
Grandmother has a possible night time sighting from her home in the city of Nevada
The witness was waiting at home for grandchildren to return when she saw a large dark bipedal figure crossing an open field and heading out of town. She estimated its height from nearby trees and heard it roar and bang trash bins or dumpsters as it moved southwest behind houses and a store. Dogs and coyotes howled as it continued toward a racetrack and treed creek area.
