The witness was camping with family when early-morning vocalizations described as growls leading to screams and whoops were heard repeating three times from a forested ravine. The family dog refused to leave camp and prolonged cracking of large downed branches was then heard for about ninety minutes without any animal being seen. After the cracking stopped abruptly, the dog investigated and normal animal sounds resumed.

The witness was sleeping at home with the bedroom window open when he woke abruptly around 12:30 a.m. He then heard very loud wailing, screaming, laughing and whoop-like yells coming from a field several hundred yards away. The sounds repeated several times while seeming to move farther away, as if the source was running.

The witness and her husband took two nieces to wade at a swimming hole under a railroad bridge. While the husband explored the wooded edge alone, he heard whisper-like voices and mirrored footsteps that left him uneasy. As he rejoined the group and recounted the experience, a large limb flew from the trees into the water, followed by a loud splash and grunt from the same area. The group apologized, left tobacco, and departed without investigating further because of the children.

The witness was driving slowly westbound on I-84 in fog and snow when they passed a large, dark, shaggy creature sitting or leaning against the guardrail beside the lane. The creature appeared to watch traffic pass, turning its head from side to side, with snow streaked on its long hair or fur-like coat. The witness saw no stalled vehicles or reason for a person to be in that isolated, steep, cold location and later wondered if it could have been Sasquatch.
Woman describes possible encounter while elk hunting near Pilot Rock
The witness and a relative were waiting in dense brush while bugling for elk when they heard approaching knocking, rustling and vocal sounds and noticed a strong unpleasant odor. They left the hiding spot as crashing sounds followed them uphill. Other members of the hunting party later said they had seen a figure walking on the hill where the pair had not been. The group later returned to the site and found unusual scat.
Four elk bowhunters hear a long guttural scream
The witness was bowhunting with three companions when the party split into two pairs. About an hour later both pairs heard a long, deep, guttural scream coming from dense brush in a hollow below. The group regrouped and discussed the sound, stating it did not match familiar animal sounds from their hunting experience.

The witness was walking home from pheasant hunting on a ridge before dark. He noticed a dark upright figure about a quarter-mile away walking toward the mountains. He shouted twice; it turned its whole upper body to look at him once, then kept walking. He watched for about 15 minutes until it disappeared, speculating it had been lying down before standing up.
Possible screams heard by campers near Indian Lake
The witness was at a summer youth camp at Indian Lake in the mid-1970s. At night around the campfire the group heard loud yells from the direction of the dam that seemed to get closer, and counselors sent everyone to bed. Later in a teepee the witness felt the ground shake with loud booming steps and was held still by a counselor; the camp broke quickly the next morning.
