The witness let a dog out at home late at night and heard stomping from across the road, which frightened the dog. The witness then saw a tall figure about 8 feet tall pass a street sign and telephone pole, blocking the sign, and disappear within seconds.

Possible mid-day sighting by motorist on Hwy 465 outside Branson
The witness was driving west on a highway in Taney County, Missouri on a sunny afternoon when he noticed a large black biped standing by a large tree about 50 yards from the road. He described it as at least nine feet tall and very wide, with long thick fur and a conical head set tight to the shoulders, and was certain it was not a bear. He drove back the next day, saw nothing, and took the absence as confirmation the figure had been real.
