The witness and a companion camped beside a river and heard loud yelling that dropped into a groan or growl, followed hours later by closer calls, heavy footfalls, rustling on a hillside, and a large splash in the river. They could see nothing by flashlight from their vehicle. Shortly after, occupants of a passing car stopped and said a massive hairy figure had just run across the road in front of them.

Witness recalls unknown animal seen crossing road near Snohomish
The witness was driving home at night with a companion when they noticed eyeshine near a swamp. A light-colored animal on all fours crossed the road in front of the car, turned to look at them, then disappeared into darkness. After pulling forward the pair smelled strong sulfur but could not relocate the animal and left.
