While heading back they heard a growl, whoops and howls from multiple directions and felt they were being watched. The witness attempted a phone audio recording but it did not capture the sounds clearly.

Two people camped overnight on a ridge to do night research with call blasting and wood knocks around a fire. Through the night they heard return knocks, unidentified howls and loud sigh-like sounds, and a rock landed near one of them when he stepped away from the fire. In the morning they found a line of large flat footprints that they measured and cast.

Late at night while fishing at the Kanopolis Lake spillway, the reporter noticed movement on a hill and then a large figure peeking from behind a tree about 150-200 yards away. The reporter and an adult companion watched it peek in and out for about 45 minutes, seeing red eye-shine with and without a flashlight. Near the end, the companion heard a single knock and a 3-4 second high-pitched scream from the figure's area, which the reporter could not hear over the flowing water.

The witness was camping with family and awoke early unable to sleep. While tending the fire in the early morning, she heard distant loud howls lasting several minutes, which were followed by distant dogs barking. The companion and children did not hear the sounds, but the family dog stopped and looked toward the sounds. The companion later played posted howl recordings, which the witness said were a close match.

In darkness before dawn, a hunter walking toward a deer stand encountered a very tall bipedal silhouette about 45-50 feet away at a field edge. The figure turned and ran quietly into the treeline within about 10-15 seconds before a flashlight or shotgun could be used. The witness then went to the stand and called a parent about the sighting.
Motorist has possible night time sighting near Dorchester
The witness was driving north on a highway at night approaching a lit intersection. A tall dark figure emerged from the roadside ditch, approached the car in one stride, and stared at the witness. The witness continued to the stop sign, saw the figure standing in the middle of the road in the rearview mirror, and drove on without stopping.

Two relatives were hunting near a river and stopped at the edge to drink when they heard brush noises from across the water. A large brown figure emerged from the brush, moved downshore and crossed to their side while running on two legs. They then crossed to the other side and headed back upstream toward their trucks without further strange encounters.

The witness and their uncle were playing on hay bales in a field when the witness spotted a large bipedal human-like figure leaning against a tree at the forest edge. The witness watched alone for several minutes, then showed it to the uncle and they watched together for several more minutes before becoming frightened and running to tell a relative. The relative searched with binoculars but the figure was gone.
