Camper hear knocks and camp stalking at Marion Mountain Campground
The witness awoke in his tent around 4:50am to a loud knock like wood hitting a tree trunk, followed by very heavy bipedal footsteps moving uphill through a ravine and across the campground. He heard branches breaking, a rock-like object thrown against a tree near his tent, dogs whimpering, and crickets falling silent. He unzipped his tent window as a neighboring camper emerged to quiet her dogs, after which the footsteps stopped.

The witness and his son were in sleeping bags in their tent when they heard a loud low-pitched whooping call from boulders just above them. About an hour later the witness heard a loud boom close to the tent. Two mornings later he found a fresh green pine snapped at its base on the boulders near camp, which he inferred was pushed over by the animal that made the sounds.

The witness and a companion drove to Hemet Lake late at night intending a walk and sat by the car. They heard something large breaking branches and moving down a canyon behind them, then smelled a strong rotten wet-dog odor and felt watched, so they left. When they returned about an hour later, a large steel trash bin had been knocked over and had a large circular dent.

The witness and a companion were camping in a tent when they were awakened in the very early morning by prolonged loud screams, followed by heavy footsteps, sniffing and heavy breathing just outside the tent. They remained inside until sunrise. In the morning they found scattered pine needles and dirt but no blood or fur, and large deep human-like footprints leading away into a wooded ravine, which the witness followed briefly before packing up and leaving.
