Possible vocalizations heard while training hunting dogs near Atwater
Four people were coon hunting at night when their dog-tracking signal failed and dogs became frightened and quit hunting. The group heard repeated loud groaning and wailing howls that they estimated came from about fifty yards away. They recovered the dogs and left the area feeling intimidated and unwelcome.

The witness reports repeatedly hearing howling from the woods behind a home in northern Portage County, Ohio, described as closely matching howling examples heard on the BFRO website. The sounds are heard regularly in the evening after dusk, with the most recent hearing while working in the backyard about two weeks before the report. No visual encounter is described.
A man has heard similar cries in the night for over 15 years that were noted in another BFRO report from the same location
The witness, a long-term resident of an apartment complex, reports repeatedly hearing a very loud, somewhat high-pitched howling or screaming sound from the heavily wooded area behind the complex on warm spring, summer and fall nights over many years. The sound was loud enough to be heard indoors and was described as suggesting an animal in pain or calling out. The witness initially had no explanation but after reading about Bigfoot wondered if the cries could have that source.
