Hunter hears unknown vocalization in the distance, south of Lost Lake in the Norse Peak Wilderness
While camping alone in a tent on a hunting trip, the witness heard unidentified calls over about an hour and later was awakened by movement and shaking of the tent. The witness noticed the tent had been lifted and saw a shadow pass by, then illuminated a large dark human-like figure about 20 yards away that turned and ran into the brush. The witness kept lights on until sunrise and packed up and left the next morning.
Camper diverts tall creature approaching him near Puyallup
In 1983 the witness was camping and was awakened around 11 p.m. by loud screams repeated every 15-20 seconds that approached through brush. The witness then saw a tall dark shape about 7-8 feet tall striding through undergrowth and yelled, after which it veered to go around and continued on screaming. A foul odor was noticed as it passed, and broken branches were found the next morning.
Soldier sees large figure while on patrol at Fort Lewis
During an early-morning guard patrol in winter, the witness saw a large black silhouette at the edge of a snowy field by pine forest. The figure walked toward the witness with a swaying gait, stopped, then moved again. Frightened, the witness went back inside without telling anyone, later wondering if it related to newspaper photos of prints.
