Friends camping at Cedar Lake (10mi E of Wilkeson) hear possible BF vocals
Three campers were sleeping at a secluded mountain lake camp when they were awakened just after 4 a.m. by a very loud, high-pitched scream from very close by, followed by shorter vocalizations. They heard brush movement and other strange noises through the rest of the night, lit a small fire for reassurance, and left in the morning. The reporter states they had not believed in Bigfoot before but became convinced by the experience.
Loud late night stomping frightens backpackers near Echo Lake
The witness and a companion were camping overnight in a tent near a lake. Around 2 a.m. the witness awoke to very loud, heavy-sounding bipedal stomping moving through camp with branches breaking, which stopped abruptly when he moved to reach for a knife. He stayed still while feeling watched, then eventually fell back asleep. The companion separately reported hearing loud walking in camp that night, and no tracks or disturbance were found in the morning.
Teenage girl and her younger sister chased out of the woods near Greenwater
During a daytime rock-hunting outing, the witness and her younger sister walked down a trail past a creek. Something charged toward them from a wooded hill, crashing through vegetation while emitting a terrifying howl/growl, and the witness glimpsed a black figure. Both girls fled back to their group in tears and left the area immediately.
Loud vocalizations sounds heard
Two companions watching lightning during a storm reportedly heard loud pig-like grunts and screams and noisy movement in dense brush. They also reported seeing red reflected eyes spaced a few inches apart. The animal was described as large, but its size could not be judged because of a steep slope, and no tracks or hair were found afterward.

In 1977 the witness, an Army instructor at Fort Lewis, was alone grading trainees on a night exercise when he smelled a foul rotten-egg odor and heard brush rustling and branches breaking. He saw a pair of eyes staring at him as a creature moved left to right in front of him, then left the area, after which the odor and sounds stopped. He was frightened and hid, and a next-day search found no tracks.
