Three campers were sleeping in tents at a wilderness campsite when they heard three loud bounces around midnight. Two of them left the tents, heard something heavy run down the hill, and threw rocks toward it without seeing anything. The next morning they recreated a very similar bouncing sound by throwing a log, then packed out early without spending a second night.

Two companions were camping overnight on a fishing trip near Sullivan Lake when they were awakened by a distant crash and a musty odor. A second, louder crash close to camp was followed by a grunt, and the narrator saw a tall gray-furred shape through the tent mesh that fled when lit by a flashlight. Both spent the rest of the night in the truck and left the area the next day.
