Teen looking out his back window spots a figure behind a tree south of Rockmart
The witness was making dinner in the kitchen and looking out the back window toward the woods when he noticed a large black figure crouched behind a tree. He saw a long hairy arm and a foot protruding from behind the tree and judged it too large to be a man. He ran to alert his father, but the figure was gone by the time his father reached the window. A later search found no tracks or impressions.

The witness was awake in the living room in the early morning hours when a very loud, deep scream or roar lasting a few seconds sounded from very close to the front porch. The witness looked out the front window but reported no visual detail and heard no further sounds. Rain the next day prevented finding additional sign.

Around 2 a.m. in late August 2011, the witness stepped onto his mother's back deck in Paulding County, Georgia to smoke. From the woods behind the house he heard a loud, deep howl repeated several times over about five minutes. Unable to match it to known wildlife or other sources, he went inside frightened and later found online howl recordings he felt matched what he heard.
Public service officer hears unidentifiable screams and grunts near Hiram
In early June 2006 around 1 a.m., the witness arrived home from work and parked by the woodline near the driveway. After exiting the vehicle he heard loud howls and ape-like grunts from the woods that he perceived as very large and threatening. He shouted back, heard closer howling responses suggesting two animals, then retreated backward to his house with a firearm. He watched from inside but reported no further sights or sounds.

Shortly after 1:30 am the witness was awakened by aggressive barking and went to the porch to investigate. He heard heavy bipedal footsteps, loud screams and howls that approached rather than retreated, and fired shots into the ground. He later heard repeating groups of three heavy knocks and was shadowed along the fence for over an hour without ever seeing the source, leaving him and the dogs shaken.
