Hunter reports possible vocalizations in the Danforth Hills near Meeker
While hunting in the morning with a spouse, the witness heard an extremely loud vocal sound coming from a roadless area and echoing off hills. The sound began as a low roar and rose to a high-pitched primal scream, lasting about six to seven seconds and repeating four times over about ninety seconds. The witness reported lifelong outdoor experience in Colorado and said the sound matched no known animal and caused a chill. No animal was seen.

Hunters Hear High Country Vocalizations
Four bowhunters bugling for elk heard a powerful howl they said was not an elk and was not made by their own party. As the sounds drew closer, one member of the party saw a dark brown flash of fur in the trees but could not identify it. The group then drove out of the area and did not return to hunt.
