Rock hunters watch tall upright figure along Lake Superior near Newberry
Two companions searching for agates noticed a distant dark figure at the tree line and watched it through binoculars. The figure walked between the tree line and shoreline, moved toward them covering distance quickly, then bent down, picked up a rock and tossed it into the lake. They initially rationalized it as a human but later reconsidered and regretted not checking for footprints.

Snowmobiler finds large barefoot tracks in upper peninsula of Michigan
The witness was snowmobiling through a remote marshy area in February when they came upon a trail of barefoot human-like prints in deep crusted snow. They stopped to examine the trail and concluded the prints were not from a bear, snowshoes, or anything familiar. Frightened by the size and human appearance of the tracks, they left the area quickly.
