Elk hunter hears growl, finds footprints, feces
While camping alone during an archery hunt, the witness was awake in the tent around 4 a.m. listening for elk. A low growl was heard from very close, followed by a loud scraping sound and a thud/stomp from trees 2-3 feet from the tent. The witness made noise and went outside yelling with an axe but heard nothing further and saw nothing.
Observer yells at dogs from window and hears return scream
The witness was awakened in the night by barking dogs and opened a window. She heard a loud scream she did not recognize, then heard a large animal moving and breathing close by in the dark yard. The sounds moved away uphill, which she interpreted from the sound as bipedal running.
Witnesses report bigfoot tracks in mud along a pond; tracks led to the carcass of a beaver that appeared to have some of its entrails removed
While fishing at a beaver pond east of Gates, the witness found large four-toed tracks in mud that led into the water and looped back toward shore but could not be followed through brush. The next day the witness returned with a relative and plaster, confirmed the tracks were about 18 inches long and very deep, made a cast, and found a partially eaten beaver in the brush in the direction the tracks had headed. No creature was seen.
Massive animal seen hunched over eating something in the middle of the road
Two occupants driving at dusk on a forested secondary highway in Oregon passed a very large animal eating in the middle of the road. The animal showed no fear, lifted its head to look at the car as they passed, then resumed eating. The witnesses described it as massive and solid with two-toned hair and an unusual pushed-in snout, estimating it would stand at least seven feet tall erect, and said it did not match bear, wolf, or dog familiar to them.
Heavy steps around tent in dark scare backpackers
Four teenagers were bedded down in a small wall tent during a hiking trip when they heard heavy footsteps circling the tent three times. The steps brushed against the tent fabric without tripping on the supporting ropes, and no flashlight was seen in the darkness. The group was frightened and stayed inside the tent without going out to look.
