Possible wood knock, etc., in Big Cypress Boardwalk Trail portion of Goethe State Forest
The witness hiked the Big Cypress boardwalk trail around noon and stepped off the pavement toward a clearing. Shortly after leaving the path they heard a short deep humming or groaning sound to one side and something falling through leaves behind them, then retreated to the path. After starting back toward the clearing they heard a single crisp wood-on-wood knock and then ran to their car.

The witness and a companion were driving east at night in light rain when the vehicle drifted near the median. A large brownish creature rose from a crouch beside the road, raised its arms, and ran bipedally across the highway. The pair turned around to look again but the creature was already gone.

On the second evening the witness walked a sandy horse trail about a half mile from an earlier brush trail. He reported hearing an unfamiliar screech/growl, answering wood knocks, loud stomping nearby, and a rock thrown past him, followed by crashing in the brush. He then found a very large bare footprint that he photographed with his shoe for scale before leaving quickly without ever seeing the source.

The witness's family discovered a long trail of large footprints on their hunting property on a winter weekend in 1991. They followed the trail for over a mile past creeks and cabins and through a barbed-wire fence, making plaster casts of a right and left print. They also reported finding a palm-frond bedding area and palms with hearts eaten nearby.
Brothers hear howl while trailblazing
Two brothers were trailblazing through dense brush at the edge of a marshy swamp in the morning when they heard a very deep, loud howl that echoed. The sound then changed to match a purported Bigfoot scream recording the witness knew, continuing for about half an hour. They also believed they heard a faint answering call from elsewhere in the swamp.
