A witness and a relative were carrying camping gear to canoes in the afternoon when they heard an extremely loud bellow followed by muffled talking-like sounds. The witness retrieved a shotgun and moved toward a river point while the relative watched from the canoes. The witness heard heavy footsteps and brush movement heading toward the rapids but saw nothing, and found dry crossing rocks with no splashing. He concluded whatever made the sounds must have leapt rock to rock to cross.
Stalking in swamp during Florida BFRO expedition
The witness camped in a forested swamp area after dusk and reported hearing large animals moving around the camp in a triangular pattern, breaking branches and knocking on trees, including between the camp and a nearby vehicle. Later that night with others present, the witness reported a strange gurgling sound followed by a prolonged bout of tree knocking. The witness suggested the sounds implied dexterous animals and doubted humans could move that quickly in the dark swamp.

After hiking Mt. Massive, the witness was walking toward the trailhead parking lot in daylight when he heard loud crunching footsteps moving away through dense trees to his right. The unseen source, estimated 100 to 150 feet away, produced two identical very loud deep resonant barks spaced about 20 to 30 seconds apart. He never saw the animal and heard nothing else. He first assumed a bear but later doubted it because the steps sounded bipedal and he found no matching bear sound.
Rancher, wife startled by vocalizations near Leadville
A couple starting a barbecue fire at their ranch heard repeated deep, low-frequency hollers from the direction of the pasture tree line. Horses in the pasture ran toward the couple and appeared spooked. The couple put out the fire and left, estimating the source was no more than a quarter-mile away.

The witness and a companion were camping in a tent at Alexander Springs. After playing cards until about 3 a.m., the companion fell asleep while the witness lay awake. The witness heard surrounding animal sounds fall silent, smelled a skunk-like odor, saw a tall upright shadow on the tent wall and heard a grunt-like noise. In the morning the coolers had been ransacked, and the pair left the campground early the next night after feeling uneasy.
Possible tracks and sounds outside a home near Lady Lake
As a child staying at a relative's house near lakes and woods, the witness heard growling, snorting and footsteps outside a bedroom window late at night and stayed in bed frightened. The noises lasted several minutes. The next morning the witness found two very large human-like bare footprints in a sand pile in the driveway and measured them, but relatives dismissed them. The witness now interprets the incident as involving a bigfoot.
