Two young men hiking outside Tehachapi come across possible tracks
While hiking to search for lost sunglasses, the witness noticed a large human-like barefoot track. The companion later viewed the track and estimated the maker would be at least seven feet tall and the track a few days old. The pair kept watch while returning to the car, and snow fell after they reached home.

A relative found large tracks behind a horse pasture two days after a snowstorm, and the witness followed them about half a mile toward ponds, then photographed and measured them. The tracks were reported as having a 52-inch stride, toe indications and hair-like lines, with one track 17 inches long. Warm rain washed the tracks away before an investigator could view them in person.
Possible vocalizations heard outside Inyokern
The witness and a son were visiting relatives and were taken to a family gold mine and cabin area. After spending about an hour there and while preparing to leave, both heard a high-pitched scream likened to a woman hollering from a nearby ridge. They shouted back thinking someone was in trouble but received no reply. A relative who was present in a portable toilet did not hear the sound.
Deer hunter finds possible footprints on Mt. Breckenridge
While deer hunting with a relative in hilly terrain, the witness became lost and crossed a ravine onto another game trail. There the witness found several large human-like footprints pressed deeply into the trail leading downhill until the ground became too rough to follow. The witness also noted unusually little animal activity in the area.
Hunters hear, and possibly see, a strange creature near Lake Isabella
The witness and a companion were sleeping in a tent on a hunting trip when they were awakened by five unknown vocalizations from different directions over several minutes. The sounds were described as between a growl and a scream, likened to a higher-pitched seal. Other nearby hunters also heard the sounds and no one could identify the source.
Forest Service employees see big footprints near Lake Isabella
Two workers covering illegal OHV trails found unusually large human-like footprints near a meadow during lunch and photographed one. The prints were measured and noted to follow a fence line. Later the same day at another meadow area they found the same type of prints crossing a trail toward rock outcroppings, after which they left the area.
Camper experiences unusual early morning scream near Kernville
The witness was camping overnight with a relative beside the Kern River. During the night the relative reported movement sounds outside his car. Soon after sunrise the witness heard a very loud, prolonged scream from just outside her tent. She looked out but saw nothing unusual.
Hunter hears early morning vocalization not far from Weldon
The witness was deer hunting alone before dawn from a rocky bluff. While glassing the brush-covered mountainside in gray light, he heard a very loud booming scream from several hundred yards upslope that he compared to a woman screaming. He first wondered if someone was playing a trick, but the steep terrain, darkness and dense brush unnerved him and he left the area immediately.
Possible nighttime road crossing sighting by motorist near Lamont
The witness and a companion were driving at night on a rural road through farmland when they saw a dark, hairy figure cross the road ahead of them. The figure moved quickly from one side to the other in long, smooth strides without looking toward the car and disappeared into a field. The witness turned back to look with bright lights but saw nothing, and a search the next day found no tracks because the ground was wet and muddy.
