Father and son hear strange sounds while camping near Oregon Caves
A witness and a relative were camped at a shelter in a remote mountain meadow during a multi-day hiking trip. On the final morning both heard repeated very loud screeching, guttural, howl-like sounds from upslope lasting several minutes but could see no source. Both were shaken, ate quickly, left earlier than planned while checking behind them, and have not returned. The witness concluded the unknown sounds were made by a Sasquatch.

The witness got a truck stuck in snow on the Sturgis Creek trail area and started walking down the road to find a phone. From behind near the trailhead area the witness heard very loud screaming and howling sounds echoing off the valley walls. The sound repeated about seven times and was described as ending abruptly rather than trailing off. The witness continued walking while watching behind, with a rifle safety off.
