Witness recounts he and his friend's encounters with a strange creature along with strange sounds and footprint finds

Early one morning while still dark, the witness and a companion walking to the bus stop noticed a dark cone-shaped mound under a street lamp about 300 feet away. The shape stood up and walked toward the end of the street, then turned, picked something from the ground, and entered a strip of woods. The witness estimated it was about seven feet tall, very thin with wide hips, long arms, and a pointed crest on its head.
