In July 2002, the witness stopped on an isolated logging spur to pick blackberries and heard repeated loud wood-on-wood knocking from a ridge above. Believing no other people or vehicles were in the area, he chose not to climb the steep, dense slope to investigate and left after the sounds continued from one location. He only later associated the sounds with alleged Bigfoot behavior after reading reports online.
