The witness was traveling back from a field lab in the late afternoon when they saw a large fur-covered bipedal figure along a powerline corridor about 100-125 yards away. The figure was walking slowly north with its back to the witness. The witness estimated its height at 8-10 feet by comparing it to the powerline poles.

The witness backpacked solo to a remote campsite and spent the night in a hammock. Throughout the night he heard knocks, screams, howls, voices, footsteps, rocks and twigs landing nearby, and felt his tarp, hammock lines and gear being touched. The sound slowed, sped up, or stopped with the witness, paused near houses, then resumed in wooded stretches for about a mile. No source was ever seen due to fog and cover, and the witness felt the terrain was too rough to be easily matched by a person.

The witness was driving home at night with a companion in the front seat and two children in the back seat. A tall creature with long chestnut hair jogged across the road in front of the car in the headlights and went into the woods. The witness and the front-seat companion watched it together, then drove on to try to find it again but could not.

While hunting in the late afternoon, the witness heard a loud long whoop followed by chatter apparently responding to distant shooters, then heard it again from farther along the treeline. The witness then saw a bipedal dark figure about 200 yards away walking in pines toward a break, where it stopped and crouched by a brush pile. The witness left without approaching closely and returned the next day, finding no sign but noticing an unusual odor.

Late at night in July 2007 the witness was watching television at home while his spouse slept in another room with a window open. Both were startled by an extremely loud scream coming from outside that corner of the house. The witness went outside to investigate but found nothing. The witness arrived in darkness to hunt deer from a tree stand on private land. While sorting gear in the stand, a very loud prolonged scream-howl ending in a growl occurred at close range, followed by movement in a nearby pine thicket and a brief foul odor. The witness stayed in the stand until first light, then left, and later visits had no further incident.

The witness was hunting arrowheads along a lake/river shoreline on a very hot late afternoon. From across the water the witness noticed a dark shape first taken for a stump, then saw it move while soaking in the water. After the witness climbed onto a dam, the figure apparently noticed the witness, stood up and walked to shore, and was gone by the time the witness finished crossing.

From the immediate right the witness heard a hair-raising guttural growl twice and hurried inside to tell family. The next morning the witness called the conservation office, where the person consulted said the described sound was definitely not a bear.

In the summer of 1996 the witness was with two companions around a large bonfire on a neglected wooded farm property. An extremely loud scream-like vocalization was heard from the lower wooded ground and seemed to circle around the group. The witness felt the source was upset by the fire and was disturbed because it moved closer rather than away. Hearing alleged Bigfoot vocalizations on television later reminded the witness of the sound.
