Howls heard after midnight by resident between Botsford and Upper Stepney
The witness reports hearing loud, powerful vocalizations after midnight from a forested location, estimated to come from the northeast at a distance. The sounds consisted of roughly 10-second bursts repeated four or five times over five to ten minutes. After the sounds ended, area dogs barked together and local owls were silent for about ten minutes.
Encounters on rural property a few miles from Housatonic River outside Bethel
Late at night the witness arrived home and got out of the car with a young dog, which ran toward a brushy stone wall barking aggressively. The witness shone a flashlight and watched a dark bulky shape with bright reddish-orange eyes move slowly, crouch behind a tree and peer out before standing taller. The witness first assumed it was a bear but later concluded it was a sasquatch.

The witness was doing senior photos at a lake with two companions when rocks were repeatedly thrown into the water from across the lake, accompanied by tree knocks and limb breaking. The group took burst photos toward the sounds and then left the area. At home the witness found what he believed to be a black orangutan-faced figure holding a white object in two of the photos, plus a possible smaller shape in a tree.

The witness and a companion were at home late at night when they heard loud, deep, rhythmic calling from the woods behind the house. They described at least three separate voices calling back and forth and moving closer over about two hours, while dogs cowered and cats hid and other night sounds stopped. They could not identify the sounds as known animals and later felt they resembled whoop recordings attributed to Bigfoot.

A group went into the woods at night to try to document the source of recurring screams. Three companions went ahead to hide and startle the others, then heard something behind them near a collapsed cabin. They shone a flashlight and saw a very tall silhouette, then ran about a quarter mile back to the house where the reporter saw how frightened they were.
