Possible daylight sighting by motorist near Minerva
The witness was driving with a relative on an unpaved road toward a trailhead in late morning. From about 50 yards away the witness saw a large brown furry animal in the road lunge into dense woods. The witness reached the spot within seconds but found nothing in the clearing and woods beyond. The witness concluded the light color, large size, and quick disappearance did not fit a moose or bear.

Possible sighting by motorist at night, outside Westport
The witness was traveling on a road late at night with a companion slightly behind. Near a forested area, something very large and fast ran out in front of the witness on two legs, with one hand held forward and apparently carrying something in the other. Conditions were very dark with light fog and drizzle.
