Hunter hears wood-on-wood knocking

The witness was hunting alone on foot in the morning when he heard repeated groups of rapid wood-on-wood impacts ahead of him. He followed the sounds as they stayed ahead until they were close but still hidden by a rise across a creek, then became uneasy and retreated to the road and camp. He stayed in the camper the rest of the day. Years later after reading a newspaper account of tree-whacking, he concluded the sounds were Bigfoot communication.
