The morning after dogs repeatedly barked toward the woods overnight, a resident found fence wires pulled down and a large print in sandy soil near the fence. He searched downhill and found a second similar print on a creek sandbar. The family reported the finds, and investigators visited that afternoon and measured both prints.

A large footprint was reported on a small sandbar where something crossed a creek in a wooded area. A second partial print was also noted before the trackway returned to solid ground. The better print was cast and later viewed and photographed elsewhere, with four toes visible on the cast.
