The witness and two companions camped in the Mt Hood National Forest with a barrel of animal entrails intended as bait. Over three days they reported loud screams from a nearby ridge, nighttime wood knocks, heavy steps and snapping twigs, and found their camp table apparently bitten through. They moved the bait pile away from camp, later found most of it missing with a wet sweet dog-like odor at the site.

They listened for about 25 minutes as the sound circled the camp while hearing something large moving through brush. No visual sighting was made, and the group only jokingly suggested Bigfoot at the time.

The witness and his wife were going to sleep when they heard loud repeated screams from the cul-de-sac and greenbelt below the house. The witness ran down to the area but found no cars or people, and the sounds stopped after 4 to 5 minutes. Police arrived, flashed lights around, and said they would check the area.
