The witness was at home around 2 a.m. when a loud, human-like mournful howl was heard about 50 feet from the house. After he opened the door the sound stopped, then about 30 minutes later the same sound was heard again from much farther away. He states the sound was not a dog and that he could not match it to any known animal after research.

On the evening of Feb. 14, 2009, the witness and her husband were in their upstairs bedroom with the windows open when they heard unusual monkey-like whooping sounds from the woods around the house. The series of whoops was heard twice and prompted barking from neighborhood dogs. They drove briefly around the area but did not hear the sounds again.

The witness had just returned home with two dogs around dawn when extremely loud, animal-like yells with a human-like quality were heard from near the horse barn. The sounds changed in character and moved toward the western edge of the property. The witness went to check the horses afterward but saw nothing unusual.

The witness was walking ahead of her husband toward a fishing spot at a strip pit when a very loud screaming began just behind her. She crouched and covered her ears as the screams repeated, then heard the source run, jump a creek, and crash through brush and small trees on the far side. Her husband, who had been following behind, heard the screams and joined her to watch the vegetation move as the creature left. They left the area without returning for prints after rain washed the site.

In 1987 the witness was lying in a basement bedroom with the window open on a cool late-summer night. She heard a loud unfamiliar howling and screaming vocalization that frightened her and her dog, followed minutes later by heavy footsteps outside the window and on the deck plus a horrific odor. She sensed something pacing in front of the window as if looking in before leaving, then heard the same vocalization again and closed the window.

While camping with fraternity companions near a river at night, the witness and two companions went to gather firewood near a brush-covered hill. They heard something large moving through dense brush toward them, breaking branches, with heavy bipedal-sounding steps and a musty stagnant-water odor. After retreating to the campfire and later returning with additional group members, the group heard rapid heavy steps approaching and fled in a vehicle, without ever seeing the source.
