While walking to a duck blind in the early morning, the witness and companions heard trees snapping and movement in nearby timber. Later, while walking back alone to the truck for shells, the witness again heard branches breaking and movement paralleling him that stopped when he stopped. When he raised his empty shotgun toward the sound, a loud long guttural scream echoed through the trees, which companions back at the pond also heard, terrifying the witness who ran to lock himself in the truck.
