EXPEDITION REPORT for incidents on Spring 2024 MN trip
An organized multi-day expedition with 18 participants was conducted in a heavily forested area with swamps and rivers. Nearly all participants reportedly heard or saw activity attributed to bigfoots, described as more than expected. Multi-witness daylight sighting 3.5 miles SE of Sixmile Lake (Leech Lake Reservation)
Two relatives driving slowly while hunting for grouse were alerted to a large dark figure in a grassy ditch beside a side road. They backed up and watched the upper body of the tall, long-armed figure move slowly upright into the woods. At the site they noticed a strong foul odor and minor ground disturbance but no clear footprints on packed gravel. Later the same day a game warden told them that spot was known for similar reports.
Sasquatch sighting by motorist 5 miles west of Ely
The witness was driving westbound on a highway with family in the van when she saw a fur-covered bipedal figure very close to the road. The figure walked parallel to the highway and crossed a side road from ditch to ditch in a few seconds. She described long grey to brown wire-like hair and estimated its height around six feet. Family members in the vehicle did not see it, and she kept driving without turning back.

The witness was driving on Highway 73 in the early afternoon when he saw a large brown animal squatting by the roadside. As he approached, it stood bipedally and crossed the highway in three steps into a swampy area. He stopped and found patted-down grass where it had been but no distinct prints due to wet ground, and noted a strong rancid odor at the site.

About a month before the report, the witness was driving home at night when his headlights caught a tall bipedal figure crossing the two-lane highway ahead. The lower legs and large feet were clearly lit while the upper torso was more shadowed, described as about 7.5 to 8 feet tall, about 3 feet wide, with long black matted hair and long arms swinging as it walked. The figure crossed from east to west in four steps, traveling between a wooded area and the river area.

The witness drove to a bear bait station in the early morning and paused at a trail fork. A large gray-white creature crossed the trail about 50-60 yards away and continued through brush toward the bait site, with loud bipedal footsteps heard for several seconds. The witness left immediately and later returned with a companion only to retrieve a posted sign.
Daylight sighting while scouting hunting locations near Skibo
The witness and a companion were on foot scouting hunting ground in daylight when the witness noticed a large reddish-brown figure moving in the timber nearby. The witness saw only from the mid-shoulders up for a few seconds before turning toward the companion and looking back to find it gone. The companion did not see the figure but heard movement and footfalls, and a strong musky odor was noticed as the figure moved away.

The witness was driving home in the morning and stopped at railroad tracks when he spotted a dark animal sitting about a thousand feet away. He observed it sitting on its haunches for about ten minutes. The animal then stood upright and walked north into the surrounding forest.

A woman driving in the morning stopped with several other motorists to watch a large sasquatch-like figure beside an abandoned trailer home. The figure was described as walking near the trailer and looking in a window. As the witness arrived, it walked across the road in front of the lead car, stepped over a barbed-wire fence, and went into the woods.
Husband and wife experience an up-close daylight sighting on Hwy. 7 north of Bovey
The witness and his companion were driving south in their pickup when they saw a tall, dark-furred creature near the roadside ditch. It crossed the road less than 20 paces in front of them, then leaped the far ditch in a single stride. Both occupants watched it closely in clear daylight and described human-like but non-human movement and musculature.

The witness and her son were driving at night when the car headlights revealed a large hair-covered creature standing still in the middle of the road. They stopped and watched it for two to three minutes from about 200 feet away while it looked toward the river and never looked at the vehicle. The encounter ended when the witness turned into a nearby driveway and continued to a relative's house.

The witness and a companion were leaving home by car in the morning when they noticed a tall black hair-covered biped walking away down a dirt road. They watched it alternate between the road and ditch until it entered the woods out of sight. Afterward a relative and another person found multiple footprints along the road and photographed the clearest track.

The witness left his truck to hunt squirrels and noticed movement about 175 feet away through brush, fence and creek. What first looked like a large flapping turkey stood up on two legs and ran very fast and quietly, followed by a larger reddish animal that briefly stumbled then sprinted after it into thick brush toward the swamp. The witness crossed to the spot, found only soft indentations, followed briefly toward the swamp, then left after becoming frightened that the animals might have circled behind him.

The husband got up early and heard an unfamiliar calling sound, so he went outside to get mail and look for the source. Near his car he saw a fur-covered bipedal figure about 50 feet away in pines, watched it briefly, then it noticed him and ran toward the woods and field. He later found large pressed-down footprints in grass, and the spouse's father found scat in the same area said to differ from deer or bear.
Cabin owner describes one sighting and other incidents 2 miles north of St. Croix State Park
In the early dark morning the witness left a trailer to use outdoor facilities when a dog unusually refused to follow. About 10-15 feet away a large bipedal figure over 7 feet tall moved silently across the yard, paused to turn its head toward the witness, then continued in a smooth gliding motion down an embankment toward a creek and into the woods. The witness grabbed a flashlight but saw and heard nothing further, later noticing fine dust particles hanging in the air where the figure had paused.

The witness and a relative were camping on their property when the relative spotted a hairy man-like figure near the campsite. The witness then saw the upper half of the figure as it stood and walked away toward dense trees and a ravine, later finding large five-toed footprints in a creek bed. Later that day the witness heard a high-pitched scream while alone on a dirt bike, and that night something large reportedly ran past the tent while a neighbor's dog chased it.

Two companions leaving a house through the back noticed sudden silence followed by crashing sounds from a swampy gully below. They saw a large hair-covered bipedal creature standing in the water shaking a tree. The creature ran through the swamp and trees, and the witnesses immediately fled.
Dusk sighting by cyclist north of the town of Virginia
The witness was riding a bicycle on a dirt road in the evening when they saw a tall, lanky, black-furred creature about 300 feet away on a hill at the forest edge. The creature looked at the witness, then crouched and walked upright up the hill into the forest. The witness felt scared, left in the opposite direction, and reported the encounter years later after hearing a scientist discuss the subject.

A couple walking with their two dogs noticed a large dark figure crossing a frozen lake toward an island. They watched it move quickly through tall cattails from about 350 yards down to about 150 yards before it entered woods and disappeared. The witness tried to approach for a closer look but the dogs refused to follow, and he found no tracks in the hard-packed snow and ice.

While grouse hunting on a trail before dusk, the witness noticed a foul odor and a tall hair-covered figure crouched behind a wood pile about 40 yards ahead. The figure stood upright on two legs, looked at the witness, then turned and walked away over a hill into a clearcut. The witness followed to a hilltop to watch it walk through young trees before it disappeared into a swamp.
