The witness and his wife were driving south on the Richardson Highway on a Sunday morning to get breakfast when a very large furry biped ran across the road in front of them. It crossed in only a few running steps and went into the ditch and timber. The witness described its arms and legs as human-like and its fur as dark possibly with auburn tips, and judged it too large and fast to be a human.

Driving home on Auburn Drive in Fairbanks in July 2009 around 6 p.m., the witness noticed a figure standing by the roadside about 100 yards ahead. As the witness closed to about 50 yards the figure bolted into the woods toward the elementary school, ran away from the road then turned to run parallel to it before disappearing. The witness stopped at the entry point, later circled via side roads to the school parking lot to look into the woods, but did not see it again.

The witness was riding as a passenger in a westbound vehicle on the highway when he saw a tall, single-colored figure crossing the road ahead on an incline. The figure reportedly walked upright in long strides across the lanes and into the forest. When the vehicle reached the crossing point, there were no houses or any sign of the figure in the woods.

The witness noticed a tall, light-colored animal standing at the treeline with its back turned, reaching up a white-bark tree with its right arm. The witness later estimated its height at over nine feet by measuring a similar tree from memory.

She looked out and saw a very large black figure that appeared well above the bottom of the window. She called her parent terrified and hid until she was picked up. After noticing strange tracks and a depression in fresh snow, the witness's headlight illuminated a figure about 10 to 12 feet ahead running away. The figure ran through deep snow, jumped over a snow-covered log, and disappeared into trees and darkness. The witness turned back, rejoined the companions, and left the area.

They described it as about seven feet tall and ape-like, covering a roughly 35-foot-wide road in four to five steps. They later returned to look for tracks and reported finding unfamiliar inward-pointing prints, but no other sounds or signs.

Some sounds were answered from the other side of the road, prompting the witness to walk faster.
