The witness was driving to work westbound on US 460 east of Shelbiana in the morning when a tall, hairy biped came from the river side, went over the guardrail and took two steps across the two-lane highway. While fishing on a river near sundown in 1994, the witness saw an upright two-legged animal wading through shallow water and trees. The animal approached toward deeper water, then turned back to the shallows, watched the witness for a few minutes while tilting its head, and then wandered into the swamp without making a sound. The witness left by motorboat once it was out of sight.

The witness was driving west at night with two daughters when a tall brown-haired bipedal figure stepped into the headlights and crossed the road into thick brush. The witness stopped the car, as did an oncoming car, and the older daughter also watched the figure cross. The younger daughter slept through the entire event.

Late at night on July 4th while camping behind a relative's house, the witness left the campsite with a flashlight to use the bathroom. About a minute down the trail, a large dark-furred biped crossed the trail about 20 feet away, paused to look at the witness after the witness gasped, then walked away. The witness dropped the flashlight, ran back to camp panicked, and later declined to sleep outside.

The figure walked east across the highway in front of the car with swinging arms while the witness slowed, and his wife also saw it. A young couple parked on a dirt lane at night turned on their car headlights and saw an upright, hair-covered creature standing ahead of them. The creature turned to look at them, showed yellow eye shine, took a few steps across the lane and disappeared. Frightened, the driver failed to turn around, backed out to the main road, and drove into town.

They reported it was not a bear or human and was unfamiliar to them despite knowing local animals. The area was described as swampy.

The witness described a very tall, heavy, reddish-brown ape-like animal with long straggly hair and long swaying arms that walked with bent knees, estimating it at 7 to 8 feet tall with shoulders level with a 55-mile highway sign. All three occupants were frightened.
