Two companions had spent the day fishing at dredged ponds and were leaving at dusk when they heard splashing. On the far side of a pond they saw a dark, broad-shouldered figure standing chest-deep in water with its back to them, repeatedly raising its arms to slap the water. They ran to a nearby house to report what they had seen.

While camping and fishing at a remote lake, the witness was alerted by a companion to a possible animal on the hillside. The witness then saw a creature stand from behind a bush about 75 yards away, stare briefly, and dart into the woods. The figure was described as about as tall as a large man and was looking east up the canyon for about five seconds. A black human-like figure emerged and ran upright down the steep slope waving its arms overhead, covering the distance in about ten seconds. The witness first assumed it was a person trying to disrupt the hunt, but after revisiting the site doubted a person could have shaken the trees or run that fast in deep snow.

On the fourth day of an elk hunt, the witness stopped on a ridgeline trail and watched a large upright brown figure across a ravine. The figure walked on two legs, then sat on a downed alder with its back to the witness, swinging its legs and appearing to pick foliage for about 30 minutes while the witness watched through binoculars and a rifle scope and whistled to get its attention. The witness then left up the ridge without approaching and rejoined the hunting party at the vehicles.
