Early one Saturday morning in mid-June 1997, the witness was driving to work when she noticed a reddish-brown figure stooped in the road near an overpass. As she approached, the figure stood upright on two feet, looked at her for a few seconds, then stepped over a guardrail into a wooded area and disappeared.

The witness was riding a four-wheeler on an old gravel road in a rural area with a cornfield on one side and woods on the other. From a distance the witness saw a figure first thought to be a dog, then recognized as man-like as they got closer. The figure rose from a kneeling position, moved to the roadway, looked at the witness, and then went into the woods. The witness paused briefly and then turned around and rode away, afraid it might return.

The witness was camping with family at a secluded wooded site and sleeping in a tent when awakened during the night. Through the tent screen the witness saw a tall, dark, hair-covered bipedal silhouette standing a short distance away, which stood still briefly before turning and walking away toward a field out of view. The witness was riding horseback with a companion and a dog along a game trail when she noticed a dark figure foraging about 120 yards away. The figure stood upright and sprinted up a steep ridge on two legs while swinging its arms, and the dog chased it out of sight. The witness rode another trail to higher ground but could not follow through the timber, and the dog returned later tired. The companion did not see the creature.

The witness and a companion were hiking in the evening when they heard a muffled gibberish-like scream and called out with no response. As they walked toward the sound, they heard crashing and saw a large, hunched, hairy human-like figure run past about 10 feet away down the mountainside. They were too shocked and scared in the fading light to follow it.

The witness stopped a car by a wooded road to urinate. A hairy man-like creature approached to within three feet while snorting and grunting and holding a small limb-like object, then walked away. The witness fled in the car and saw the creature standing at the road edge in the rear-view mirror.

The witness was on a solo vacation and stopped at a large bog with a viewing tower in a national park. Early one morning he watched a uniformly greyish-brown upright figure from about 500 feet away, first walking away and then crossing his view for about 20 minutes while appearing to pick plants. He walked the boardwalk at ground level and then returned to the tower for the longer observation. He did not follow it into the bog and left without a definite identification.

The witness reports sitting on a deer stand by a field with relatives during a sunny day. The witness looked west and saw a tall reddish-brown animal with dark deep-set eyes, facial hair, and a broad forehead. After looking away briefly, the witness looked back and the animal was gone.

The main witness was sitting on a log hunting squirrels after an older relative moved to another area. A dark hairy figure reportedly ran upright from behind a tree very fast, making a high-pitched noise with loud thumping footsteps. After it disappeared, the witness ran to tell the older relative, who did not believe the account.

After helping at another house, the witness and a companion drove home through wooded roads late at night. Their headlights caught a very large, tall, dark-brown figure running across the road about 40 to 50 feet away. In a few long strides it disappeared into the woods, and the frozen ground left no tracks to examine.

The witness was driving at night with a relative while looking for deer when gold eyes were noticed off the left side of the road. On approaching, they saw a roughly six-foot-tall figure with long brown hair standing by a fence and swaying side to side. They drove slowly past without stopping and did not return.

After arriving home after dark with headlights on, the family heard their dog barking and crashing through vegetation as it chased something toward the car. On a Sunday evening in winter 1996, the witness was driving home from church with at least one other person. They watched a tall, dark, upright figure cross the road and step over a 3.5- to 4-foot barbed-wire fence without breaking stride. The witness identified the figure as a bigfoot.

The witness was hunting from a fenceline seat when cattle on both sides stampeded to the center and then south. He turned and saw a tall black figure walking north along the far fence, stopping twice to look toward him before moving on. His brother arrived about 30 minutes later from a different direction, ruling out the brother as the figure.
Forest Service surveyor finds over 20 large foot prints along a forest service road
The witness stopped after noticing large footprints on the side of a road and found over 20 tracks that entered the woods, crossed the road, and continued into the woods. The tracks had five toes, were larger than the witness's size-12 boot, and sank deeper than the witness's boot print. Deer tracks and deer hair were also present around the tracks. The witness left to get a camera and returned to take five Polaroid photos of the tracks.
