The witness, a tour guide, was waiting at the mountain-top cavern entrance with two tourists for the return bus on a cloudy day. They heard repeated thumping and noticed treetops moving along a ravine about 200 yards away, then briefly watched a huge bipedal figure with swinging arms run downhill toward the lake and disappear while footfalls remained audible. The witness radioed for the bus and left with the group, later quitting the job to avoid being alone on the mountain.

Two companions shoveling snow noticed barefoot-like prints and followed them into the woods. They watched two large greyish furry figures, one pounding and shaking a thin tree and the other digging in snow, while noticing a foul odor. The creatures vocalized and ran off when they noticed the witnesses, who briefly tried to follow before giving up.

On Christmas Eve 2000 two people driving toward Winslow on Highway 87 passed a tall hairy figure beside the road near Jacks Canyon. The figure was seen in the headlights from about fifteen feet away and covered its face against the glare. The driver turned around to look again, but the figure had left at high speed into a nearby canyon, leaving long barefoot tracks in snow.

The youngest hunter, waiting alone in the dark, reported a very large dark fur-covered biped running past and then walking away to the northwest. He then saw a tall, solid-white figure on two legs run across the trail about 40 yards away, moving very fast and quietly. He searched for tracks but found none because of leaf cover, then left feeling unnerved.

Late at night the witness and three companions were shining for deer from a truck when they spotted a large crouched figure with amber eyes in a field. The figure stood up and ran diagonally toward the truck as they drove away. It kept pace to within about ten feet while the truck reached at least 30 mph, then disappeared into the tree line.

The animal stood upright and walked slowly across the road in front of the car, appearing injured with blood on its side, then descended an embankment toward woods leading to a river. The occupants described it as bear-like at first but then gorilla-like, muscular, and walking on two legs.

The witness was hunting turkey with a relative on wooded state land when he noticed movement about 20 yards away. He observed a stocky, hair-covered biped at least six feet tall that swiftly ran downhill and out of sight. The relative was looking another direction and did not see it. The sighting lasted about five seconds in good daylight.

The witness and her husband were driving on a narrow gravel road looking for deer in the early afternoon when they noticed a large brown hairy figure bent over near a pine thicket. The figure then stood upright on two legs, showing long arms, broad shoulders, and an estimated 7- to 8-foot height, before running quickly into the thicket. The pair returned the next morning and reported finding small and large footprints, hair on a fence, damaged fencing and poles, and a persimmon with no nearby tree.

The witness described a very thin light-gray animal with a small round head, extra-long arms, and pale areas around the eyes standing upright. The figure was described as very still, and the witness could not make it out when looking back in the mirrors.

The witness walked into woods to take photographs and saw a tall, hair-covered figure standing ahead. The figure jumped over a fallen tree and retreated silently into brush, making no further sound. The witness followed briefly with a camera but found nothing and left for the car.
