The witness and a relative were delivering newspapers in the early morning when they stopped at a driveway. In the headlights they watched a large, very hairy creature walk across a yard toward the woods for about 30 seconds before it left view. The creature ignored them and walked away casually without looking at them.

The witness was driving early on a snowy January morning near Rt. 55 in the Seneca Valley when they noticed a very tall, dark, fuzzy ape-like creature standing upright just off the road. The creature then stepped into the road, and the witness swerved to avoid hitting it.

That night the group heard loud piercing screams in the forest and smelled a strange skunk- and sweat-like odor, and the witness sounded a personal alarm which seemed to drive something away. The witness and a young relative were walking by a lake at night while camping when they heard a commotion. They watched two very large black upright figures and then a third taller one stripping branches and bark from trees for about 15 minutes from about 125 feet away before running back to their camper. The next day the witness returned to find stripped trees and limbs piled at their bases.

The witness was deer hunting from an old tree stand on a mountain crest in the morning and dozed off. A strong odor and rustling woke the witness to see a small reddish-brown hair-covered biped below eating discarded fruit. A much larger black hair-covered biped then approached vocalizing, the two interacted and appeared to notice the witness before leaving, and a hunting companion nearby also reported seeing a large upright figure moving fast through trees.

Three men encountered two large hairy figures at night on a mountain trail. Two of the men observed one figure at close range, about nine feet away, shining a flashlight on its face, noting yellow eyes and a dragging right leg. The close figure left the trail, crossed a meadow into heavy brush and was not followed, while the second figure was seen moving in the opposite direction.

In summer 1987, the witness and two companions were resting on a rock after swimming and fishing at a swimming hole on the Gauley River when the area went quiet. They saw a large, dark-brown, two-legged animal standing in a clearing across the river watching them for about two minutes before it left up the bank and out of hearing up the hillside. The next day the witness revisited the spot and judged the animal had been at least seven feet tall.

The witness and extended family had arrived late for a summer visit at the grandparents' mountain home and were talking inside. An older relative noticed something at the high kitchen window, prompting several men to go outside with firearms. The grandfather fired a shotgun toward the rear of the house while the witness, locked out front, saw the outline of a shoulder and head with reflective eyes near the roofline. The group regrouped inside, and dogs normally around the house were absent that night but returned frightened in the morning.

The witness was deer hunting in a wooded area in the late afternoon when a tall, hair-covered biped walked across about 30 yards away from right to left. The creature continued down to the witness's elevation, around a hill and down a logging road through a meadow until out of sight over 2-3 minutes. The witness later searched the meadow without relocating it and later found leaf impressions showing a long stride.

Two teenagers were collecting nightcrawlers behind a rural house just after dark when they heard something moving down through dense briars on a nearby logging road. The witness shone a flashlight and watched a very tall, muscular, hair-covered animal move past about 60 feet away for several seconds. The pair were frightened, and the next day they used a sapling to estimate its height at nine feet.

Late at night the witness was driving on a rural road with a farm on one side and an apple orchard on the other when a large hair-covered figure crossed the road ahead of the vehicle. Both then observed a large brown-haired biped standing at the far fence line for an extended period through a rifle scope and field glasses. The father said he did not know what it was and chose not to shoot, and they returned to camp where he armed himself and kept the witness inside.

When her sister passed a natural spring, a tall hairy creature stood up from the brush, and the witness screamed for her sister to run. Her sister saw the creature and ran, while the creature quickly stooped back down and moved into brush along the creek.
Medical doctor recalls his daylight sighting as a teenager near Huntington
The witness and a companion were walking in woods behind a relative's farm when they came to a hilltop clearing. They watched an unfamiliar animal bent over using its upper limbs for several minutes. The animal then stood bipedally, looked at them, and left by jumping over a barbed-wire fence at the edge of a thicket, after which the pair ran back to the farmhouse.

After dogs in a hollow below barked then fell suddenly silent, the group heard movement in brush and saw a tall fur-covered figure stand at the hill edge making huffing sounds. When the driver turned on the car headlights the figure covered its face and moved behind trees as the group fled in the car.

The witness was walking home through a graveyard at dusk when they noticed a large dark hairy creature among the tombstones. The creature paced, appeared to dig at a grave, made wailing sounds, and made shoulder-shrugging and hopping movements. When it noticed the witness it acted agitated and started toward them, causing the witness to leave.
Drain pipes knocked down after strange howls/screams were heard
The witness reports that during winter 1978-79 the household repeatedly heard loud howls and screams late at night around their rural home. Drain pipes around the home were knocked down and many large human-like footprints were found. The tracks were later destroyed by the witness's father, and the witness interprets the sounds and tracks as a Sasquatch passing through.
