They braked hard, and the animal stood up from a squat, moved to the roadside, looked at them briefly, vocalized, and left into the woods. After turning back from a dead end, the witness stopped to look at a dead snake, then looked up and saw an upright, hair-covered creature leap across the full width of the road. The companions were facing the opposite direction and did not see it, suggesting a cow or deer, but the witness remained convinced it was bipedal and erect.

A relative searched the yard with a gun but found no sign, hearing only distant gunshots and unfamiliar men shouting in the woods.
