The witness rode as a passenger in a car with four companions on a dark two-lane highway and encountered an animal standing on the road. The driver stopped within a few feet and the occupants watched it move quadrupedally to the road edge, sit, and hesitate as if to flee. They then drove slowly past it within a couple feet, after which it was gone when looked for behind them.

In late afternoon in September 1986 the witness was rabbit hunting and walking home on a regular trail when a strong foul odor was noticed. From about 12 yards away the witness watched for about 10 minutes as a large hair-covered creature sat cross-legged in a blueberry patch eating berries with its hands. As darkness approached the witness revealed himself, and the creature stood without using its hands and calmly walked away into the brush.

In early July 1986 in the evening, a fishing guide motoring clients by boat toward a narrow rocky passage on Deer Lake saw a tall black-furred biped run and leap across the narrows into forest. The clients did not see it but heard branches breaking as it moved away, and the guide shut off the engine to listen until the sound faded. The guide later reasoned the size, bipedal run, swinging arms and lack of snout did not match a local black bear. A next-morning search found no footprints on the rocky shore.

The witness, then a child sleeping in a cabin, claims to have been awakened around 2 a.m. by a deep sneeze-like sound and a strong foul odor. A very large monkey-like head peered into the bedroom window, blocking the light, with huge eyes, a large flat nose, little facial hair and deep nasal breathing. The witness whimpered, the mother entered and the figure left; in the morning plowed vegetation and footprints were reportedly seen.

In July 1978 the witness and a companion were driving at night when an animal ran across the road in front of their car, forcing a sudden brake and swerve to avoid hitting it. They watched it turn to look toward them before it ran into the forest. She later described it as a tall, blackish, hairy animal with a broad muscular build and large head.

She turned to see a large round head looking in through an open casement window. The witness saw a tall fur-covered figure standing at the treeline atop an embankment, then watched it walk down on its hind legs to the edge of the road as the car slowed for a stop sign ahead. The witness, then 14, was hunting grouse alone with a dog on overgrown trails in northern Ontario in the morning. After noticing a strong odor and the dog fleeing, a large upright hair-covered creature rose from tall grass nearby, looked briefly, and crossed the trail silently into brush. The witness froze, then ran back the way they came while hearing branches breaking as the creature moved away.
