When about 10 years old, the witness was fishing apart from two relatives on the Kansas River. He saw a large dark hairy figure standing in the water and splashing as if bathing. After the figure looked at him, he ran back to his relatives in fear and the group left the area.

The witness was standing fishing in knee-deep river water while a companion fished downstream. Hearing heavy breathing behind, the witness turned and saw a tall, athletic, hair-covered male-like creature standing by a tree on the bank about 100-150 feet away. The two stared at each other for several minutes, and as the witness moved sideways downstream the creature moved between trees keeping watch, until the witness reached the companion; when they returned the creature was gone and no prints were found in dry sandy soil.

He then turned and watched a large figure running along the road before it went over a barbed-wire fence with little effort and disappeared into a field. The witness was driving slowly on a rural road at night to bring awards to a scout campout when a hair-covered biped stepped over a fence into the road. She stopped close to it, stepped out behind her car door, and watched it for about a minute under her headlights while noting red glowing eyes and a musky odor and feeling calm. The biped then crossed the road, stepped over the opposite fence, paused to look back, and strode toward trees out of sight.
