A family driving in the evening on Austin Bridge Road toward Ridge Road encountered a tall animal standing in the road near Mein Mitchell Road. The animal was described as about 9 to 10 feet tall with a bear-like, barrel-chested body standing upright, dark hair, and a wolf-like face with red glowing eyes. After watching for about two minutes from about 200 yards away, the driver turned the vehicle around and took a different route.

From near their elevated pool deck, they shone a flashlight on an unknown figure with red eyes positioned just above deck level. The witness ran to the house and told relatives who were inside.

A large black biped emerged from woods on the right and sprinted across the eastbound lanes in about two strides, passing in front of a semi and entering the wooded median, while the wife watched it continue across the westbound lanes. Frightened, she did not stop and drove quickly past.

She described it as much taller than a person, lean and muscular, covered in dark hair with little facial hair and wearing no clothes.
