They braked as headlights lit it, and it stood to about eight feet, covered its face, then stepped over a fence post and ran toward the woods. Three occupants of a car driving at night watched something emerge from a wooded area and cross the road ahead of them. The figure finished crossing on the south side, turned to look at their car as they passed, then went up a steep bank into woods with apparent ease. The witness had left a truck stuck and flooded in overflow water near a lake in late June 2012. When he returned the next morning with friends to tow it out, they found a large, very fresh footprint about 30 feet from the truck. They photographed the print with a hat for scale and speculated it had come down a ravine to look at the truck before stepping over a snowbank into the woods.

The creature looked toward the road and then moved southeast toward trees as they passed. His wife also saw it briefly after he pointed it out, while their daughter did not look up. The witness noticed a figure squatting at a trailhead across a field and alerted the relative. Both watched it stand, turn, and walk away into the woods down a slope toward the river, grabbing an overhead branch as it left. Afterwards they went to the spot and used the height of the grabbed branch to estimate the figure at about eight feet tall.

The witness approached to about 30 feet and saw the back of a light beige, clean-haired figure with darker face and hands holding trees, which then struck trees, turned away, and ran off on all fours while whistling continued from across the road. Companions farther away heard the whistles, thuds and thrashing but did not see the figure.

The figure then stepped over a guardrail and disappeared down the mountainside toward the river. The witness drove to the top, returned to the spot to look again, and saw nothing.
