On a winter night around 11:30 p.m., the witness was traveling home from work near Sidney, Montana when a tall light-haired biped crossed the highway ahead at the end of a coulee guardrail section and continued north without looking toward the witness. The figure was described as well over six feet tall with hair that was darker at the skin than at the tips. The witness was traveling alone, was frightened by the encounter, and did not return the next day to look for tracks in the snow.

The dog ran ahead then retreated in distress, while the figure paused, crouched, approached closer, then sprinted to cover.
