The witness was riding as a front-seat passenger in a van approaching a curve when they saw a large furry figure running upright across a crossroad and behind a billboard into brush and woods. As an 11-year-old lying alone in bed at the family island cottage, the witness felt watched from the windows behind her. She turned to see a large round head looking in through an open casement window. The head quickly ducked down and audibly struck the window pane, after which she ran to the adults, who dismissed the incident as a dream.
