Family encounters upright creature while camping at Silver Falls
The witness's family of four stayed late at a remote Howard's Creek campsite and walked along the loop road on a bright Sunday afternoon. About 60 to 75 feet ahead, a very large dark-brown furry biped emerged from brush on one side, glanced toward them, then crossed quickly into brush on the other side. Frightened, the family returned to camp, where they noted deep scratches high on a tree trunk that they associated with the animal.
Young witness has encounter during thunderstorm near Cave Junction
The witness, then a teenager, went outside at night during a lightning storm to check on horses. From a floodlit pasture near a river, she saw a very large dark upright figure emerge from the riverbed and move quickly across the pasture. The figure stepped over an electric fence, crossed the highway, and went up an embankment on the far side within a few seconds.

The witness watched from a viewing tower during a storm as a tall man-like figure came down to the beach and waved its arms toward the surf. Two other people in the tower watched the figure at the same time. When a pickup truck approached with its lights on, the figure strode quickly about 30 yards to the dunes and disappeared. The witness later found torn-up sand where the figure had come down a high sand hill but left without following.
