On a rainy afternoon a woman who was home alone heard two whoops from the tree line behind her house. She looked up and watched a tall, dark-haired figure step out of the trees, walk five long steps to the side while looking down, and step back into the forest. She called a relative to return home, and a later visit to the spot found trampled vegetation, stacked broken limbs, and a strong odor.

The creature stood and looked at her from about 20 yards away, frightening her, and she fled to her stand and called a family member. As it closed to about 100 yards and stopped by a hay bale, the witness realized it was much taller and powerfully built with a high neckless head and long muscular arms, moving silently. The witness moved toward the tree line to avoid being silhouetted, then retreated to a truck and slapped the tailgate, after which the figure dropped to all fours and disappeared within seconds.
