Late at night two boys inside a lake-front home noticed a shadow passing a high bedroom window and went outside with lights to check for an intruder. From a deck they heard a loud snap on a trail leading to the woods and saw a very tall, broad, black-haired upright creature run away and disappear. The next day a search found only a broken limb, and the witness later heard that nearby residents had also reported sounds, tracks and fence damage that night.

The witness, then a child sleeping in a cabin, claims to have been awakened around 2 a.m. by a deep sneeze-like sound and a strong foul odor. A very large monkey-like head peered into the bedroom window, blocking the light, with huge eyes, a large flat nose, little facial hair and deep nasal breathing. The witness whimpered, the mother entered and the figure left; in the morning plowed vegetation and footprints were reportedly seen.

After hearing rustling ahead, the witness turned on the headlights and reported a very large hair-covered creature standing a few feet in front of the truck. The witness immediately reversed to leave, and when looking forward again the creature was gone.

Hearing heavy breathing behind, the witness turned and saw a tall, athletic, hair-covered male-like creature standing by a tree on the bank about 100-150 feet away. The two stared at each other for several minutes, and as the witness moved sideways downstream the creature moved between trees keeping watch, until the witness reached the companion; when they returned the creature was gone and no prints were found in dry sandy soil.

A family living in a rural wood-frame home reported repeated nighttime visits over several years by two large hair-covered bipeds, one larger and one smaller. The creatures were said to peer in windows, mimic an infant's sounds, produce a strong septic odor, throw heavy tanks, damage a vehicle, and leave hair on the house. Livestock on surrounding farms were found dead with intestines removed. After the father fired through a wall at one creature, only the smaller one was reportedly seen, and activity lessened after relatives guarded the house and a protective ritual was performed.

The reporter and three companions spent about half an hour on an observation tower, where the reporter heard loud clicking and short high-pitched screams and noticed an absence of birds. While driving out of the refuge minutes later, the reporter and the front-seat companion watched a huge, very wide, all-black upright figure cross the wide road in about three steps and disappear into dense brush. The companions in the back seat did not see it, and a brief stop found only a disturbed path through the brush where it had entered.

Afterward he noticed two of his four pooled trout were missing and heard a boulder crash downstream, then left with the remaining fish.

The father also reported seeing it cross the road ahead while lifting a wire out of its way, and the family quickly left the area.

During rabbit season in 1976 the witness was hunting with four companions in dense snowy woods when he became separated. He heard an extremely loud sound and then had a roughly five-second view of a huge dark brown bipedal figure running at full speed. He later told his companions, who suggested it was a deer, but he insisted it was not.
