Bow hunter describes close encounter at dusk from his tree stand near Grain Valley
The witness was deer hunting alone from an elevated stand at dusk when deer behaved nervously. A large unseen animal approached behind the stand, breathing heavily, sniffing, producing knocks and screams, and pacing before moving west. The witness turned on a headlamp and saw a tall dark figure from behind that grunted and ran along a creek bank into the woods.

Two companions walking a hillside trail at night heard a loud snap and saw two large bipedal figures silhouetted against city lights. After one companion shouted, a second shorter figure stood up beside the taller slumped figure, and both fled on two legs crashing through small trees. The witnesses estimated the taller figure at 7.5 to 8 feet tall, hid at the fire tower overnight, and noted broken limbs and a sweet unpleasant odor in the area the next morning.

The witness and spouse were drifting down the Missouri River behind fishing jugs with the motor off when they spotted a dark hairy figure drinking at the water's edge. As they drifted to within about 50 feet it stood on two legs, noticed them, and walked into the nearby woods. After it disappeared they heard trees being knocked down for about a minute and noticed a wet musky odor.

The witness and a companion were bowfishing at night at a pump station when they heard high-pitched sounds. A spotlight then revealed a tall hair-covered figure about 25 yards away at the treeline, gripping a limb and watching them for under a minute. The figure grunted loudly and walked away steadily while breaking limbs in its path, after which the two left terrified.
