He described the animal as over seven feet tall, heavily built, with long muscular arms and no visible neck.

The source of the noise was gone by the time they reached the top, and they returned cross-country to the main trail.

Across the river in bright moonlight the witness saw a large bipedal creature shaking a big pine tree, then running in an arc into the woods. When footsteps were heard again, the witness and another camper chased the source uphill, heard it running away, and found only toe-prints.
